Client: Microsoft PowerBI (Power Platform)
Role: Art Director
Project Goal: Power BI is a business analytics platform that enables organizations to access insights needed to make informed decisions. Our task was to deliver a ebook that will serve as a visually stimulating source asset “hub” enabling quick access to Power BI resources.
Design/Visual Approach: The theme will combine product UI graphs and visually striking photography. These elements tell the story of how data informs the world of business. The layout and orientation relied on the imagery that was selected.
Results: According to the data, both ebooks provided some of the highest engagement in the Power Platform. The imagery and graphics we used are still being used in future promotions on social and web campaigns.
Asset 1: Explore Power BI
Sourcing the correct type of photography was crucial to the success of this ebook. Using striking imagery with clear lines, movement, and composition help the metaphor of data in the natural world. We combined hill slopes, mountain tops, aerial views, macro, and several other forms to line up to the organic shapes of the Power BI provided graphs and charts.
Formula / Flow:
1. Three sections – Amazing Data Experience, Modern Enterprise BI, BI across your organization
2. Each section has 5 assets related to section topic. Each will have a CTA to another ebook, guide, etc that is more granular specific content. Unlike most ebooks, this experience encourages the reader to explore beyond the pages.
3. In case the reader needs more info, the final end page CTA has links to a free demo, and links to customer stories.

We take a similar approach to this asset using charts and imagery to tell the story of compiled data. Instead, this ebook uses situational and industry related imagery featuring people. The subject matter is broken up into sections using full bleed hero art as dividers introducing each industry.

2. How PowerBI’s digital transformation can reduce costs, improve operational insights, and empower employees
3. Case study and proof point
